RESUME

ALIGNING BUSINESS FOR OPTIMUM GROWTH

I’m a charismatic team player who thrives on collaboration and consensus building. I have deep experience working with large international companies on innovative initiatives. I focus on getting at the DNA of a problem by looking at both the internal company potential and its challenge and then aligning to the business opportunity.

With an MBA and 23 years international experience growing market prospects and improving internal procedures for domestic and multi-national businesses and industry associations, I exercise good judgement to understand and refine a company’s strategic vision. Recognizing that vision is only as good as its implementation, I pull together key stakeholders to create the change necessary to deliver on the strategy.

I lead and support business teams conducting multi-dimensional business evaluations to identify and articulate company potential and growth strategy.

Looking both internally and outside the company, I design and conduct research to determine the key business drivers and the company’s requirements to achieve success.

Working collaboratively, I facilitate, across departments, the creation of processes and procedures to support the business strategy.

I have the capability to apply a structured, consultative approach to determine business priority and inter-departmental needs.

My ability to understand the diverse needs of the key stakeholders enables me to create inter-departmental structure and process.

The breadth of my business experience allows me to develop practical and effective solutions to implementing strategy.

Barrick Gold Corporation
Barrick Gold’s goal is to achieve global standardization of their business processes and to implement one Enterprise Resource Planning system across all regions. The backbone to ensuring successful adoption is an effective change management and training approach.

In the role of Global Change Management Lead, my achievements include:
  1. Attained alignment of Barrick’s regionally independent change management and training approaches into one globally recognized and accepted strategy.
  2. Developed e-learning strategy and succeeded in building consensus across the regional teams to create a governance guide for implementing a collaborative instructional design tool.
  3. Consensus across departments to operationalize the integrated business processes within the localized ERP implementations.

Cara Operations
Cara Operations` goal was to expand their restaurant footprint with existing resources. A key driver enabling this is the standardization of their restaurant processes – from beginning to end. The consulting engagement successfully completed 5 phases:
  1. Review and analysis of existing state, identifying differences and commonality of processes and reporting.
  2. Determining key business drivers and reporting needs.
  3. Standardizing business systems and operational processes to deliver on strategy.
  4. Implementation of system standardization.
  5. Creating structure to maintain on-going maintenance of systems to support strategy.

Compaq Computing
Compaq’s goal was to drastically reposition their value proposition from a clone box maker to an IT service provider. The advertising agencies supporting the vision needed to quickly develop and leverage resources to create and support the strategic vision.

In my role of advertising account director through 2 agencies, DDB and FCB, I delivered on 3 interdependent mandates:

  1. Create, with the international team, a brand strategy and implementation plan for Canada.
  2. Produce an organizational structure and build a team to execute on the $25 million budget supporting the plan.
  3. Design best-practice procedures within the agency to execute direct advertising campaigns in half the time.

Quadravision Internet Services (acquired by Bowne & Co)
Quadravision’s goal was to be acquired by a top tier financial communication’s company. The strategy to achieve the goal was to develop industry first solutions for the largest international financial institutions

3 key initiatives I lead the implementation on significantly contributed towards the successful acquisition.
  1. Lead design and oversee the company’s largest international system implementation engagements.
  2. Create a sustainable structure and methodology to consistently launch first-time Internet solutions on time and on budget.
  3. Build and present change workshops in Germany, coaching product managers and enabling them to create the first virtual bank in Europe.
